Emilia Brintnall

Most of the objects I made for the exhibition come from unconscious material that I attempted to make into concrete forms. They contain remnants of childhood experiences, experiences that have held equal parts fear and fascination for me. We are all products of a life and world in motion. Creatively engaging with this unconscious imagery has been an exploration of the meaning it's taken on when brought into the light of our waking world and the evolving relationship I have with these images that exist within the recesses of consciousness. Things like animals, plants, and mountains can often communicate in precise poetry what other things can struggle to express. They can be experienced as deeply personal but ultimately possess universal resonance.
